Welcome Daniel Warwick

FINCH signs director Daniel Warwick in Australia and New Zealand

Daniel Warwick knows how to make two 18-wheelers look like they’re in love.

He knows how to crash a Mercedes Sprinter dressed as a train into a Brady Bunch living room at 50 km/h at exactly the right angle. And he knows how to turn a jungle gym of New Zealanders into a fully realised rescue helicopter. “I love my job,” he says. “It’s the utter playground for absurdly fun nerdisms and rabbitholes”.

He calls it “Big and Bonkers”. “I decided at some point that after doing a lot of small and sensible stuff (never that sensible, really), I should finally just follow my heart and only do things that I love,” he says. “And I love bonkers stuff. I love big projects with big ideas and big sets.”

Ask which half of his brain is driving, and he can’t tell you. “Both the German and the British side of me spark into my brain in random, uncontrollable order,” a lifetime spent feeling like Ren & Stimpy in one body. “Engineered lunatism”, he says. It’s probably what makes him happiest, and by his own admission, what might drive him around the bend one day.

When asked what everyone should expect now that he’s signed with FINCH, Daniel didn’t answer with words but in song: Sorry I Am Late.

Says Corey Esse, FINCH Managing Director and EP: “I’ve been a big fan of Daniel’s work for years. He challenges normality and makes you fall in love with his storytelling. We’re excited to be part of his future films and stories.”

See exactly how far around the bend he can go here.
