Jared Clayton
We all have an intimate knowledge of what it means to be human; to love, and to want, and to hope. But it takes a real craftsman to translate the essential, ephemeral condition of being alive into film. Combining a technical precision with a breadth of feeling that comes from being a natural observer, Jared Clayton makes films that trace the shape of the things that get left on us.

Welcome Jared Clayton
The Acclaimed Director Joins FINCH
Jared Clayton’s unique sense of storytelling has created singular work for clients like Toyota, Skoda, Burger King, Adidas, Lincoln Motors, Google, and Rimowa, and his list of awards are numerous — he has picked up major prizes at Ciclope, D&AD, AICP, CLIO, and YDA.
His film ‘Violence’ for UNICEF was nominated for Best Direction at Ciclope. A haunting piece, elevated by his distinct technical craft, the film depicts the brutal effects of violence on children by finding the light between the shadows. Jared uses discordant sound and images to capture alienation and dissociation from a child’s perspective.
Clayton’s campaign ‘See Yourself in Others’ for Tribeca Film Festival was featured in The New York Times and received “Pick of the Day” from Creativity. He was also featured in SHOOT Online’s New Director’s Showcase. He is a director whose work is poetic, emotive and dangerously original. Unbridled by the obvious, he simply sees and hears things differently.
Clayton is interested in “rekindling childlike wonder amongst everyday real life. I want to find things that feel transcendental in unexpected places.”
Through honest points of view, he hopes to use his work to help others “search for meaning and connection in even the most mundane places.”
